1. Begin by tearing colorful pages from magazines.
2. Fold in half longways and cut on the crease.
3. Place the skewer at a 45-degree angle and wrap tightly around the skewer.
4. Pull out the skewer, so it doesn't get stuck in the reed every few wraps.
5. Glue the end of the page to the rest of the reed. Remove the skewer.
6. Glue the reeds on the frame in the color scheme of your choice.
7. Let it dry for at least an hour.

Fabric Coil Coasters
• Hot glue gun and glue sticks
• Clothes line, at least 50 feet
• Assorted fabrics, approximately three yards
1. Begin by cutting fabric into thin strips - no more than two inches wide. Do not worry about frayed fabric.
2. Glue the end of a strip of fabric to clothesline so the clothesline is covered.
3. Wrap fabric strip tightly and at an angle around the clothesline.
4. Add more fabric by gluing the ends together and continue wrapping around the clothesline.
5. Alternate strips of fabric to add variety.
6. About five fully wrapped strips will make a coaster.
7. After wrapping, glue the end of the fabric to the clothesline.
8. At the opposite end (the end where you started), fold the end in half and secure it with glue.
9. Coil the covered clothesline, gluing as you go.
10. Once all the fabric has been coiled, cut the end at an angle so that it lays flat against the coaster and glue to finish.
