Three all tuition paid scholarships and three more scholarships worth 75% of tuition are at stake.

Thirty-five young women from eight different states will be competing for these financial awards at the annual 2012 Scholar's Weekend, which will occur Friday February 10th.

This will be the fourth year that the House Plan Committee, spear-headed by Margret Campbell, has hosted this intense weekend. The requirements for Scholars Weekend include a minimum of a score of 25 ACT on the, 3.5 GPA, and/or a 1700 SAT score.

Competitors will spend the night with ambassadors and current honors house plan students. The students may attend on-going theater events such as Lady Windermere's Fan, or stay in and watch movies or play board games.

Friday will begin with an interview conducted by the House Plan Committee. The committee gives this as well, which includes; Alexandra Zylstra, Tina Parke-Southerland and Mimi Hedges. On Saturday competitors will have one hour to write an essay based on a prompt selected by the Committee. Completion of the essay marks the end of the visit.

Though these women are competing for scholarships they have all been accepted for the honors house plan. Results of the essay contest will be released two weeks after the test date.
